How I handle your information

Last updated: November 2026

Brain Lava is my consulting business, based in Ontario, Canada. This page explains what information I collect on brainlava.com and what I do with it.

What I collect

When you join my mailing list, I collect:

• your email address
• your name and organization
• which Molten tools you're interested in
• the date you agreed to receive emails from me

If you email me directly, I keep that email and your contact details so I can reply.

When you visit the site, my web host keeps standard server records, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. These records are used to keep the site running and secure.

Why I collect it

I use your mailing list details to email you about the Molten Suite, including demo dates and product news. Your tool choices help me send you the news that's relevant to you. I don't send other kinds of marketing, and I don't add anyone to the list without their consent.

Who else sees it

My mailing list is stored and sent through MailerLite, an email service. MailerLite handles your information on my behalf and under its own privacy policy. It also tells me whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, which helps me see what's useful to readers.

I don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone else.

Cookies and analytics

With your permission, this site uses Google Analytics to show me how people use it, such as which pages are visited, how visitors found the site, and the general location and type of device they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. It doesn't give me your name or email address, and I don't use it for advertising.

Google Analytics only runs if you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner. Your choice is saved in your browser so you aren't asked on every visit. You can change it at any time: Cookie settings.

You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.

How long I keep it

I keep your mailing list details while you're on the list. When you unsubscribe, I stop emailing you. If you'd like your details deleted completely, just ask.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email me at any time to see what information I hold about you, correct it or have it deleted.
